Sharing
Why Share? Now that your family history records are organized into a PAF file, it is important to share your information. This can be done by submitting to large databases, creating a family web page, etc. By submitting to other databases, you can help others in their research and reduce the duplication of effort. Often, if you share your information, other people are likely to share theirs and assist you in your research.
Where Should You Submit? The Church recommends submitting to Pedigree Resource File. Submissions to Ancestral File are no longer being accepted and the database will not be updated anymore, although it is still searchable. Those who submit to Pedigree Resource File will have a copy of their files stored for preservation. There are many other ways to submit or make your family history records
available for the benefit of others. A few examples include:

While it is important to submit your information to the PRF, it will only be beneficial to others if you are adding new information or well-researched and documented information. Search the PRF before submitting to make sure you are not submitting duplicate work.
